I bought these as a pig in a poke. The price was very attractive. I am satisfied. The teak has sapwood that is prominent, but once its oiled that is not a minus. The construction quality was mixed. One screw hole was dangerously close to an edge. But the wood was far more substantial than I anticipated and was still wet. Assembly was a mild pain in the patoot with the included Allen wrench. But I have a flexible coil extender for a screwdriver kit and it had hex bits that fit the screws. Whoa, did that help. Invest the $10-15 for that tool unless you want to crank away, 1/4 turn at a time for hours to get the screws in. The choice is yours. Teak Closeouts might want to ship one of those puppies along with the product to really win the hearts of their customers. All in all, a Sherman Tank of a bench, very well priced and only a mild pain to assemble if you are smart about it.
TEAK CLOSEOUTS We ship the screws and parts from the manufacture and occasionally make changes if needed. I'm not sure a $10-15 complimentary item on a $129 purchase would keep us in business, but we get your point. We agree the inside machine screw on this backless bench isn't the most pleasant experience.
