I purchased this bench as a gift for my brother. He wanted furniture for his outdoor deck - something that could withstand the hot Texas sun. The bench arrived in a timely manner and assembled without difficulty. The wider slats and extra width on the arm rests make this bench a comfortable addition to his deck. I took one star away because when the bench arrived, it was obvious that at some point, it had been exposed to water. The allen wrench included with the screws was rusty. The wood on the bench was already weathered - it arrived as a silver gray piece of furniture. It was disappointing that the piece needed to be sanded to remove the silver gray and be returned to its original beauty especially since this was a gift. Overall, though, I chose this company because of all the other good reviews and I would consider purchasing from them again if the need arises because of the good value on their teak furniture.
TEAK CLOSEOUTS RESPONSE We are certainly glad you are pleased with your purchase. We are sorry to hear about the rusted allen wrench. We are unsure what to say about the "weathered" teak. We certainly don't sell teak that has been exposed to the weather, but there is a possibility the heavy bag trapped some excess moisture? This is our best guess since you indicated the allen wrench was rusted. We are always trying to improve while still providing our customers value. Thank you!
