I bought 8 chairs. The chairs all went together well, there were some minor issues one of the pins was missing so I found a bolt the same dia. and sawed of the head and that worked. there are some hairline cracks in a couple of them I hope that after some use the wood doesn't break. the biggest problem is the cheap bolts that come with them use a hex wrench which they give you but the steel strips out easily (Chinese steel)so I went to the hardware store and bought 3" stainless lag bolts for the last seven chairs ($47 dollars) but they went together better. The grade of wood is C with lots of sap wood. I am going to stain them so that shouldn't matter. For the price I can except some minor issues.

Yes, the hardware provided by that manufacture is rather average. Another good option and less expensive than SS is SPAX (green) at about .39 a lag screw. This would be a nice $2.40 a chair upgrade ($20 versus $47 for 8 arm chairs). Yet, the hardware provided has lasted 11 years on some of our chairs. We also have a full selection of hardware from the manufacture when a part is missing. We have extra feet, pins, and inserts.
