These end tables are built of solid teak, not shorea or eucalyptus or any of the other “fake” teak woods. This is heavy, solid teak that is smooth and nicely sanded ready to apply a finish if desired. I will use my end tables as deck furniture. I wanted that rich, golden-brown teak look so I finished my pieces with Watco Teak Oil. I’ve done plenty of refinishing teak furniture and Watco is by far the best.
I wiped off the sanding dust with a dry cloth and then liberally flooded the surface with the Watco oil. I use a wiping rag that is lint free. I flooded on two coats, and rubbed them out, and that gave a flat satin finish. It is by far easiest to do the finishing on the unassembled table.
The hardware is high grade and it takes maybe 10 minutes to assemble each table.
These tables use a nice grade of teak that stains and oils up beautifully to give a rich golden-brown appearance. For the price they represent an excellent value.
