Bench is a great value, very solid product. All of the shipping disclaimers (customer inspection responsibilities, unloading responsibilities, damage notification, pallet disposal) and wide delivery window given AFTER purchasing the item was disappointing. In the end, the item did arrive slightly damaged, and I was able to fix it, but the amount of disclaimers AFTER completing the purchase wasn't too customer friendly.
TEAK CLOSEOUTS RESPONSE You are in IL and we are in KY. It is a 1-day delivery to your location. Sometimes we hit the ship completed button which issues the tracking number the next day and sometimes we hit it before it ships. When we issue shipped notification prior to shipping, customers call asking why the tracking is invalid. When we issue the ship notification the next day, it normally works best. Being so close, your product arrived within 24 hours of shipping. The "extra" notification we send about freight orders is an "extra" reminder. It states, "because we realize you likely didn't read much on the site about a freight order, here it is again". The freight information is available in the shipping section and is there for everyone to read, evaluate, and understand what they can can expect in delivery BEFORE they place their order. It is often "fedex" laughing or scolding at us when they say, "didn't the customer know what they were buying beforehand" - in response to something extremely large "surprising" the customer. We realize that many of you don't receive FREIGHT shipments very often. This is we try and send that extra freight notification to provide all the information again. We are sorry that Fedex was faster than Jimmy Johns in this case.
Ultimately, we are glad you are happy with your bench purchase and whatever scrap or bump occurred during transit was easily fixed.
